Since November 2009 “Indian Vibes” has been presenting independent productions from and about India at the “Orfeos Erben” cinema.
Bollywood, the world’s largest film industry, is generally well known in this country, but there is so much more to discover about India – as the festival shows: as big and multifaceted as the country itself, as varied and complex is its cinema. For three days, independent films flicker across the big screen at “Orfeos Erben”, among them several German premieres. The festival, sponsored by the City’s Cultural Affairs Office, is the only one of its kind in Germany.
In the year 2000 “Indian Vibes” already presented British Indian short films to great success and in 2006 the festival organised the German premiere of the award-winning call centre documentary “John & Jane toll-free”, which was attended by a capacity crowd.
