studioNAXOS was created in 2014 by students from the Hessische Theaterakademie (HTA) in response to the increasing precariousness of the working and living areas of artists in Frankfurt and Hessen. The goal is to establishof a place that enables collaborative work beyond and independent of traditional city theater structures and free-scene hypes under professional conditions and with a long-term and self-determined perspective.
In cooperation with the Theater Willy Praml, the Naxoshalle was found as a venue for this. With institutional funding from the Kulturamt Frankfurt, the intellectual and material basis for new developments in the performing arts and the creation of a loose ensemble could be achieved.
A team was able to grow together against the constant change of location and work and the dissolution of solidarity ties. Since then it has been trying to promote the courage to experiment with art and to be part of the lively urban society through participative and public projects.
