Literaturhaus Frankfurt is a venue for literary encounters and the interpretation of contemporary international literature.
The Romanfabrik was founded in 1985 on an initiative of writers as a meeting place for literati. Domiciled on the Union quarter in Hanauer Landstrasse since 1995, it has developed into a much-frequented culture location in Frankfurt.
The “Literature Forum” was founded in 1985 as the “Hessen Literature Office” and has been headquarted at Künstlerhaus Mousonturm since 1989. Its members and officials are Frankfurt writers.
Apart from the literary institutions presented here, there are numerous places offering a literary programme in addition to other events. These are, amongst others, the Goethe-Haus, the Holzhausenschlösschen, the Haus am Dom, the Evangelische Stadtakademie as well as the Deutsche Nationalbibliothek (German National Library) and the Stadtbücherei mit den Stadtteilbibliotheken (Frankfurt Public Library and its local branches).
