Museum of Local History Unterliederbach

The Association was founded two years after the 1200 anniversary celebrations of Unterliederbach in the year 1988. Since its foundation the Association has grown continuously and now has 190 members who are committed both financially as well as with practical work.

The Association's objective is to promote adult education, local research and monument protection. The objective is fulfilled by the establishment and maintenance of a Natural History Museum in Unterliederbach, guided tours of the Museum for school classes and adult groups, local history excursions, lectures, exhibitions and the issue of local history publications. Historical markets are also arranged.

Thanks to extensive constructional changes, an old barn has been converted into a magnificent Local History Museum, of which the Local History Association and the people of Unterliedbach are proud.

In the year 2001, the Local History Association took over the old village weighbridge from the City of Frankfurt , thereby contributing to preserving the ancient character of the village.

Everyone interested is welcome to visit the Museum on the first and third Saturdays of a month between March and October, or to arrange a viewing by phone under 069/307806.
