A location where classical music joins up with straight theatre in an enjoyable form for children and adults.
The Papageno Theatre has been open as music theatre in the Palmengarten since 1998 and aims in simple form to make classical music in combination with straight theatre enjoyable for children and adults. Music literature is transposed into a stage play, dramatized and underlined with the pertinent musical highlights. Additional arrangements are created by musicians.
Conversely, popular stories, fairytales and narratives are transformed into this form of theatre with own compositions or integrated into familiar creations of music literature. Magical scenery and costume creations form stunning optical attractions. Children-oriented productions and player’s performances facilitate understanding of the action.
