The chamber orchestra Collegium Musicum Frankfurt enjoys a long-standing tradition in the city. It consists of 25 musicians (students and professionals) and presents chamber music programmes from all epochs 3-4 times annually, predominantly in the Rhine-Main region. In symphonic composition larger works are also performed regularly together with choirs.
The orchestra's roots go back to the year 1967. The musical development has been continually cultivated since then under professional direction. Today the orchestra is under the direction of Jens-Uwe Schunk, who in recent years has arranged numerous performances that have found praise by both the public and the press.
Rehearsals take place on Sundays from 19.30-22h in Sachsenhausen (Brückenstraße 7).
