"Jazz und Improvisierte Musik in die Schule!" is an education programme that, true to its Geman name, brings jazz and musical improvisation to Frankfurt's schools. Frankfurt has a long tradition as a "centre of jazz", and the programme aims to create new impulses through introducing jazz as a creative and vibrant music medium to the school curriculum.
Since 2011, the programme has worked with 40 music teachers at 19 different schools to reach out to more than 1,000 young people. The programme is made possible with the support of the Stiftung Polytechnische Gesellschaft (Polytechnic Foundation of Frankfurt am Main). Since 2014, it has been continued under the management of a special project office of the Musikschule Frankfurt am Main.
