There is a long tradition of sacred music in the Luthergemeinde, the parish of Frankfurt’s Lutherkirche church. The church choir was founded one year after the consecration of the Lutherkirche in 1893, and the trombone choir was founded in 1904. Today, more than 200 adults, children and young people are involved in the various music groups of the Luthergemeinde, for example, the church choir (the "Lutherkantorei"), the trombone choir, the children's music groups, and the recorder ensemble. All these ensembles regularly contribute to the church services. There are frequent concerts by vocal or instrumental soloists as well as performances on the church's Walcker organ or Grotrian-Steinweg grand piano.
