Over the past decades Batschkapp was the launching platform not only for many bands, but also for numerous trends. Little wonder therefore that this scene meeting point is also popular as an event location.
Batschkapp was founded as an alternative club in 1976. From its student beginnings, Batschkapp today enjoys Germany-wide popularity thanks to its outstanding programme. Numerous bands that now fill the largest halls started their careers in Batschkapp, but are still happy to return for club concerts in “their Kapp”.
Meanwhile this “seventies joint” is also the venue for promotion functions that meet with widespread acclaim because they appeal unerringly to the pertinent target audience. Readings are also a popular item in the programme. The autonomous culture centre of the early years has evolved into a professional service operation. Unchanged is the prevailing open-mindedness for newcomers, new trends and musical experiments.
Batschkapp has a new location since december 2013 in the Gwinnerstraße 5 in Frankfurt-Seckbach.
