The Workstudy Group of Frankfurt Choirs is the umbrella association of the following four Frankfurt oratorial choirs:
- Cäcilienchor
- Figuralchor Frankfurt
- Frankfurter Kantorei
- Frankfurter Singakademie
The objective of this cooperation is the mutual representation of interests with respect to the culture policy of the City, promoters and agents. Additional objectives are the reciprocal substitution of singers and the arrangement of performance dates for concert projects in the City and surrounding neighbourhood, as well as the formation of a large choir (up to 400 singers) for major concerts. For example, it has been possible to stage several major performances such as Mahler’s 8th Symphony and Carl Orff’s complete Trionfi in Frankfurt and other cities in Germany and abroad. The cooperation does not influence the work of the individual choirs. The Group offers its choirs in compositions of choice to the City, Frankfurt promoters and international agents and orchestras. This form of cooperation has resulted in a project that is probably unique in Germany: the construction of a rehearsal house for choirs of the Group (see "Haus der Chöre" (House of Choirs).
