The Akkordeon Orchester Frankfurt-Heddernheim was founded in 1954 by Friedrich Haupt and currently consists of 18 players. They meet once weekly to rehearse a repertoire that meets with wide acclaim both on stage as well as in the church.

Under the direction of their conductor Rainer Bittner, who took over office in 1995 from Peter Freund, the accordion orchestra performs an annual “Autumn Concert”, which is held alternately in the Bürgerhaus Nordweststadt and the Evangelical St. Thomas Church in Frankfurt Heddernheim before an audience of 300 to 400 enthusiasts.
