Ahl, Gerhardt (1912-1967)

*1912     †1967

Gerhardt Ahl was a composer working for the Reichssender Königsberg. Until the Städtische Bühnen Königsberg (Königsberg theatre) had to close in 1944, Ahl composed incidental music for the theatre and directed their musical comedy productions.
From 1950 onwards, he worked freelance for the Hessischer Rundfunk as an arranger, editor, and composer of dance and light entertainment music and numerous musical scores for radio plays on behalf of the broadcasting company. He was also involved in creating the music for popular television programmes, such as Zum Blauen Bock and Einer wird gewinnen (EWG), and also for more highbrow films for television or the big screen.
