NEVER WASH THEM at more than 40 degrees they said, the reading series with the much too long and cryptic name, was launched in 2019. After two readings in a laundromat and an attic, the series had to take a pause due to the pandemic. At the beginning of 2022, it has been reorganized and continues its original goal: to enrich Frankfurt as a city of literature with readings by young authors in typical city locations where one would not necessarily expect to find books. NEVER WASH THEM is curated and organized by Sven Hassel, Lara Hertz, Marcella Melien and Laura Sprenger, who work in various positions in the book industry. The independent reading series takes place at irregular intervals, funded by the Cultural Office of the City of Frankfurt and the Frankfurt Book Fair.
