Frankfurt’s museums have teamed up for a special programme: on every last Saturday of the month admission is free for many museums. On these days the museums offer more than just exhibitions. Children and adults can embark jointly on a tour of discovery.
Special guided tours for families, workshops and other activities with different mottos are offered free of charge. Alongside the own research and tours a colourful diversity unfolds. The programme is arranged on a half-yearly basis and can be downloaded here in German.
In December and August there is free admission on the last Saturday in the municipal museums without special programme.
Free admission on Satourdays: Archäologisches Museum, Deutsches Architekturmuseum, Dommuseum, Historisches Museum, Ikonen-Museum, Jüdisches Museum, Junges Museum, MUSEUM MMK FÜR MODERNE KUNST, Museum Angewandte Kunst, Museum für Kommunikation (only children and young persons under 18), MUSEUM GIERSCH der Goethe-Universität (only children and young persons under 18), Museum Judengasse, TOWER MMK, Weltkulturen Museum, and ZOLLAMT MMK.
Note: On these days admission is charged by Bibelhaus Erlebnis Museum, Deutsche Filmmuseum, Frankfurter Goethe-Haus, Senckenberg Natural History Museum, Struwwelpeter-Museum, and Palmengarten. At the Museum für Kommunikation and MUSEUM GIERSCH der Goethe-Universität admission is charged for adults only. At the EXPERIMINTA ScienceCenter only children under 4 get free entry.
