„Cinéfête” is a French youth film festival held all over Germany, which also takes place in Frankfurt. Different Frankfurt cinemas show a carefully compiled selection of French productions – all of them in their original version and with German subtitles.
The films are geared towards students from primary school up to the sixth form and are showing in several programme units in the mornings. A visit to the cinema is recognized as teaching time. A student ticket costs €3; admission for teachers is free. To prepare the visit to the cinema and to follow it up, supplementary materials on the individual films are available to teachers free of charge.
The cinema of the Deutsches Filmmuseum together with the Filmforum Höchst is the venue of „Cinéfête”.
The festival is under the patronage of the Cultural Representative of the French Embassy and of the Hessian Minister of Education.
