atelierfrankfurt is a production and presentation workshop for various disciplines. On a total area of 9000 sq. metres more than 140 artists are active under one roof in the sectors art, architecture, design and theory. In addition to the studios of the artists there are rooms for lectures, exhibitions and events and adjoining tea kitchens.
These premises serve the international exchange between artists and are simultaneously interface to the public. atelierfrankfurt arranges and holds exhibitions, lectures, performances and symposia – to discuss the prevailing situation of art, architecture, culture and society and to determine positions. Thanks to the coordination of different disciplines under one roof, a working environment arises that draws its energy from all cultural spheres.
atelierfrankfurt is a centre in Frankfurt am Main that activates, bundles and documents interdisciplinary and inter-medial production processes. Documentations show how the pertinent works were created and realized. This opens up the opportunity, particularly for the public, of not only viewing the completed work of artists, but also of participating in their creative processes.
