Founded in 1973 in Dreieich, the gallery moved to Frankfurt in 1981, and has since focused strictly on Realism.
To date, exhibitions have been held and the gallery has been represented at international art fairs. In 1983, for the first time since 1945, the gallery addressed the theme of the nude in painting for an exhibition in Frankfurt entitled " AKT ". In 1989, at the exhibition "150 Years of Photography ", the gallery presented the huge polaroids of Chuck Close for the first time in Frankfurt.
The best known artists are Jan Peter Tripp (who painted the official portraits of the former Berlin mayor Ernst Reuter, and of the former Baden-Württemberg prime minister Lothar Späth for the state office in Stuttgart) and Howard Kanovitz (who was included in the documenta exhibition in Kassel in both 1972 and 1977 and whose works are presented at major museums throughout the world).
