Michael Sell, who is also a well-known Jazz trumpet player, has been active in the field of composition since 1978. Prior to that he studied politics and science.
His compositions have been performed at the Donaueschingen Festival, the Schauspielhaus Berlin, and the Alte Oper Frankfurt, among other notable venues, and broadcast by the WDR (West German Broadcasting Company) and the HR (Hessian Broadcasting Company).
