Within the scope of the Cultural Workshop Germaniastraße, Waggong e.V. offers ongoing courses, above all for jazz and rock musicians. The schedule is closely oriented to special requirements prevailing in the popular music branch, in amateur, youngster and professional sectors. Alongside ensemble courses and workshops in the fields of rock, Latin, jazz and free improvisation, there are courses devoted to instrumentation, music theory, voice training and technology. A social grading of charges also enables students, schoolchildren and the jobless to take part in courses.
Special programs for bands are also offered, e.g. the production of demonstration CDs, seminars on the music business and on new media, a female musician archive, performance and audition arrangement. With other music associations we jointly arrange festivals to present the scene and provide artistic impulses.
There are also special events for girls and women: together with the "Frauen Musik Büro" we hold regular workshops ("Hessen Women's Music Week"). Since 1996, Waggong (supported by the Hessen Ministry for Science and Art) has run "rocketta", the Hessen Rock Mobile for women and girls.
