As of 2018, Frankfurt has a new series of Telemann concerts. The society "Kleine Kammermusik e.V." has identified a significant omission in the otherwise comprehensive classical concert scene in Frankfurt and aims to close this hitherto unoccupied space with a new series of chamber music concerts, showcasing the compositions of former Frankfurt resident Georg Philipp Telemann for solo instruments and chamber ensembles.
In spite of Telemann's worldwide fame and popularity, much of his chamber music repertoire undeservedly remains uncelebrated, with numerous "new" pieces awaiting (re)discovery. Die Kleine Kammermusik provides a forum for this music.
