For more than 15 years the slide show festival has been presenting travel documentaries – many of them premieres. The presentations of the multimedia festival take place at the Bornheim Bürgerhaus and in most cases are accompanied by the filmmakers themselves.
The festival, founded and headed by photo journalist Dieter Glogowski since 1997, also awards the Weitsicht prize. The € 10.000 prize supports socially committed photographers and journalists.
The festival is always accompanied by a photography trade fair organised by Frankfurt photo specialist GM Foto presenting new products in the Goldhalle.
Single tickets and day tickets to the festival are available, which are both cheaper when bought in advance. Reductions are available for children and young adults up to 16 years of age.
The Weitsicht Festival is under the patronage of the Museum der Weltkulturen (Museum of World Cultures) and the Deutsches Filmmuseum and presented by Dieter Glogowski, outdoor shop Supertramp and hessen fernsehen (Hessian TV).
