Increasingly, attention is being paid to rural regions as a center of life. They are places to live and work. Architecture can be an expression of valuing something; it can, in the best cases, generate a sense of confidence. For this reason, it is worthwhile to commit not just to many small construction tasks but also to entire village cores.
DAM has selected 70 outstanding examples of architecture in Europe (with the main focus on Germany, Austria, and Switzerland): from residential homes and office buildings to workshops, farmsteads, vineyards, and sports facilities, not to mention public buildings such as community centers, schools, and town halls.
With this exhibition, Deutsches Architekturmuseum is guesting at Open Air Museum Hessenpark in Neu-Anspach. As befits the theme, the show will take place in a restored barn dating from 1742 and originally located in the Emstal Sand community.
