Bibelhaus ErlebnisMuseum

The Bible is not a defunct book – it is a book of life and a cultural asset in one. The strength, truth and beauty inherent in the Bible are shown in the “ExperienceMuseum” of the Bible House. It is one of Frankfurt’s youngest museums and stands second in line on the Museumsufer behind the Museum of Applied Art. The functional red building of a former church with its tiny museum garden radiates tranquillity and harmony. Inside, however, things are livelier, especially when Biblical stories “come to life”.

The Experience Museum leads its visitors into the fascinating world of Biblical traditions, from the origins in nomadic times to today’s multimedia world.

The opportunities for getting acquainted with the Bible and its relevance for life in the ExperienceMuseum are as diverse as the ways for Biblical understanding. In addition to numerous exhibits, which invite to participate, the permanent exhibition provides in-depth information on theological questions. Two special exhibitions annually investigate various facets of Biblical themes.

The Museum is under the patronage of the Frankfurt Bible Society – founded in the Römer in 1816, it is the oldest ecclesiastical association in Frankfurt.
