A strong concept enables the young ensemble to attract a new public to the theatre.
theaterperipherie is seen as theatre for an emigrant and German audience and adopts a thespian interpretation of people and cultures from our social periphery. The ensemble was founded in 2008 by Alexander Brill, who previously managed the amateur club of Schauspiel (Drama) Frankfurt for 25 years. In each project actors/actresses perform who have their roots in the pertinent periphery.
Upon invitation the ensemble stages guest performances in Freiburg, Eschborn, Istanbul, Koblenz, Wiesbaden, Duisburg and Marburg. In June 2009, the production "Ehrensache" (Matter of Honour) was awarded the "Young Talent Prize" by the jury of the Hessen Theatre Days Marburg.
