Sounds like Poetry?

Vocals: Dirk Hülstrunk
Sax: Esther Maria Stumm
E-Bass: Werner Smolinski

Sounds Like Poetry - speech comes from speaking, speaking is rhythm, sound, melody, cacophony. The project Sound Like Poetry? is made up of a writer/sound poets, sax and base, is preoccupied with researching the border zone between speech, music and sound. Influenced by Jandl, dada, beat, behop and avant-garde jazz a type of action poetry has emerged with full instrument interpretation in interaction with base and saxophone. Common perception and listening habits and associations are questioned in a playful manner.

Rapping, gurgling, spouting, sighing, absurd plays on words, loud poetry, shamanistic airs, swing, waltzes, bebop, free jazz and vicious trash poetry: all this comes together to an explosive speech and sound cocktail that intentionally aims first at one's belly and then at the head.
