The Brass Band Hessen sounds just like an “authentic” British brass band. Not only does it play in the traditional line-up of British bands, but also places great value on the use of typical instruments that in unison first make possible that characteristic sound.
Consequently the instrumentalists do not play trumpets, French and tenor horns that are conventional for continental European bands, but, quite in the culture of British brass bands, they perform with cornets, e-flat-alto horns and baritone horns.
