The iF design award is regarded as one of the world’s widest-known and most significant design competitions. It is organized by the iF International Forum Design Hannover. The competition is held in the following disciplines: Communication Design, Product Design and Concepts.
Invited to participate in the various categories are: developers, designers and providers of communication design. Manufacturers and designers of mass products that have been on the market for no longer than three years, respectively go into mass production in the year of the award. Design students may participate in the junior competition Concepts. Prizes and distinctions: each winner receives the iF certificate, the best among them receive additionally the iF Gold Award, respectively the iF Silver Award. This prize, the »Design Oscar« was designed by Herbert Schultes for iF in 1996.
