The State Drawing Academy Hanau was founded in 1772 and is one of the oldest German training and further training establishments for goldsmiths and silversmiths. Its technical college, occupational training college and vocational college offer full-time courses in the professions of precious metal design as well as accompanying seminars, further training programmes and a summer academy. Work resulting from the Academy has frequently won awards.
