The ICSID is the world umbrella organization of design associations with around 150,000 professionals from more than 50 nations. Keynote of its work is promoting international design and the qualified training of young designers. At the Board Meeting 2003 Prof. Dr. Peter Zec, Director of the Design Zentrum NRW, was voted »President Elect« of the ICSID. As of 2005 Prof. Dr. Zec takes over the presidency of the organization.
