The Institute Mathildenhöhe is a culture institution of the City of Darmstadt. Its functions include the organization and concept of exhibitions in the large exhibition buildings for changing exhibitions at Mathildenhöhe and in the Museum Künstlerkolonie in the Ernst-Ludwig-Haus, as well as the administration and scientific management of the Graphic Collection in the Ernst-Ludwig-Haus and the Art Library. The Institute Mathildenhöhe regularly organizes changing exhibitions on themes relating to art, culture and design history. Planning for the Darmstadt Art Prize and the execution of the related exhibition are further responsibilities of the Institute.
