The Illustration Prize for Children’s and Youth Books is made possible by a foundation of the Community Organization of the „Evangelische Publizistik“ - GEP (Evangelical Journalism), the central journalistic facility of the Evangelical Church in Germany. It has been awarded by the GEP since 1992.
Every two years an independent jury awards illustrators who submit artistically and creatively outstanding illustrations for publications in the German speaking area. The Prize is to honour artists whose art also contributes to the culture of seeing.
Entry conditions:
The Prize awards illustrations in books for children and young people (book art).
Prizes and awards:
The Prize has a value of euro 5,000. A seven-member jury independent from the GEP decides on the winners and a recommendation list.
