The Prize is awarded to students of the Frankfurt Städelschule - the College of Visual Arts. The prizewinners are determined each February by a "Rundgang" in the Städelschule - a walk through the exhibition where students show their artistic works created in the previous year. The Prize is intended to reward outstanding artistic performance and encourage interesting young positions.
