Philharmonische Gesellschaft Frankfurt e.V.

The Philharmonic Society Frankfurt was founded on 25 October 1972. The Society is acknowledged as a public interest organization.
Purpose and goal of the Society is the promotion of art and culture in the musical and musical pedagogic sector by

• concerts for schoolchildren, young people in occupational training as well as the old and the handicapped;
• public concerts of particular artistic profile;
• concerts under the auspices of international culture exchange programs, especially with the partner cities of Frankfurt am Main.

This program, to strengthen and further develop Frankfurt's music life, is achieved by cooperation with the City of Frankfurt, with the State Music Council Hessen and other committee and institutions active in the field of music.

Since foundation the Society has successfully arranged: "Music in the Palmengarten" (schoolchildren and orchestra concerts with amateur and fledgling musicians and prizewinners of the competitions "Youth Plays Music" and "Youth Plays Jazz"; request concerts for the aged and handicapped), "Old Music Frankfurt", "Organ Concerts in the Paulskirche", two concert series "Composers in Frankfurt am Main" and the series "Kaisersaal Concerts", running for 20 years. Numerous concerts have also been staged under the scope of the city partnership scheme. This range of activities is documented by annual leaflets, brochures, programs, reviews and recording by the hr radio station.
