The production company start-up Off-Musical Frankfurt UG was established to provide a venue for modern musical productions from New York and London in Frankfurt. The producers aim to establish Frankfurt as an important venue for musical theatre productions in the German-speaking countries, Notable successes to date include the 1998 Off-Broadway rock musical "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" at the Brotfabrik in Frankfurt, launched in September 2017, and the first German production of the 2010 award-winning Broadway rock musical "American Idiot" with music by Green Day at the Batschkapp in Frankfurt, launched in January 2018.
