Max Planck Institute for Empirical Aesthetics / Music Department

 

Founded in 2012, the Max Planck Institute for Empirical Aesthetics is dedicated to the research of the psychological, neuronal and sociocultural basis of aesthetic perceptions and judgements.

In the Music department, research focuses on production and reception, i.e. how music is made, perceived, experienced, understood, and evaluated.
