The Ensemble Modern, domiciled in Frankfurt for many years, celebrated its 20. anniversary in the year 2000.
A fitting occasion to found an association of friends of this orchestra, that enjoys an outstanding reputation
both nationally and internationally The Association has set itself the goal of devoting its efforts to support
Ensemble Modern and thus the new music that it performs. Empty public coffers are forcing private
patronage, also at the level below that of major sponsors. Creating performance opportunities, purchasing
instruments, issuing contract compositions are the targeted activities.
The Association is currently in the process of foundation and consolidation, but very soon hopes to play its
part in enhancing the cultural life of Frankfurt am Main, also in cooperation with friendly associations and
institutions. All lovers of new music and of the Ensemble Modern are called upon to join the Association and
thereby create a platform for long-standing support of Ensemble Modern in Frankfurt am Main.
