Frankfurt Society for New Music
The FGNM promotes the collection and concentration of creative strengths in the field of new music. Activities are aimed at composers, interpreters, musicologists, journalists, artist collectives, clubs and institutions, who/which are engaged with the production, performance of and debate on innovative contemporary music. The goal of the FGNM is to promote new music in the widest sense; it is open to diverse aesthetic approaches and sees itself as a forum for the introduction and thematization of such positions. On the basis of an objective analysis this goal is to be pursued for virtually all forms of current musical practice. Predominantly within the scope of concert performances the FGNM attempts to arrange and mediate between the most different forms of the contemporary music scene – above all in the Frankfurt region. The FGNM is a member of the Germany-wide Gesellschaft für Neue Musik (GNM), which allows both the networking at national level as well as the interchange between regional subdivisions of the GNM.
