With around 1200 members, the Federal Association Youth and Film is the biggest organization for cultural children's and youth films activities in Germany and Europe. Members are culture centres, school and youth film clubs, film and media professionals.
Since 1972 the Association has supported non-commercial film work among children and young people by seminars, congresses and Wiesbaden's yearly festival "Workshop for Young Film-Makers". The BJV offers film books and brochures, has an extensive club film library and is at the disposal of budding young film makers for advice and help. Moreover the information network "Junge Filmszene" is also available to simplify and promote contacts between young film and video makers.
