The field of responsibility of the Deputy Mayor in charge of Culture and Science for the City of Frankfurt/Main covers the Municipal Theatres Frankfurt am Main with opera and drama, eight municipal museums, the Institute for Municipal History, Schirn Kunsthalle, Artist House Mousonturm, Alte Oper, Zoological Gardens, Saalbau GmbH, Kulturgesellschaft Bergen-Enkheim mbH. Under the auspices of the organization Kulturregion Frankfurt Rhein-Main gGmbH the Culture Director furthers culture cooperation in the region and supports cultural education in the city and the region.
Moreover via the Culture Department Frankfurt am Main she is also responsible for promoting science, literature, film and music, art in public places, the support of artists and the international exchange of culture. She supports private theatres and free theatre groups, culture and city district centres (citizen centres of Saalbau) and numerous other cultural amenities, initiatives and projects.
