Youth and classical music – at first sight an uncommon combination, yet to be found nonetheless; also in the domain of Hessen. In November 2004, young and committed musicians who had outgrown the “Hessen Youth Symphony Orchestra”, but on their path to professionalism had missed the mutual musical performance at a high level, took the initiative and founded the “Young Chamber Philharmonic Hessen” (JKH).
The JKH is a pan-regional, self-organized chamber orchestra that offers a podium to both young instrumentalists as well as to emerging conductors and composers. It gives them the opportunity for interchange, learning the chamber orchestra repertoire and presenting themselves and their work to an interested public in Germany and abroad.
The Young Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra of Hesse was renamed Frankfurt Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra in January 2011. The ensemble is a registered charity.
