OPEN BOOKS

OPEN BOOKS - this is the large municipal reading festival that has been held annually at the Frankfurt Book Fair since 2009. At various reading venues around the central Römerberg, visitors have the opportunity to experience authors and their books live. Around 100 events invite visitors to discover new fall publications in the fields of German and international fiction, nonfiction, graphic novels/comics, and poetry - and admission is free! In addition, Frankfurt's oldest series of literary events, "Literatur im Römer," is an integral part of the program. On each of two evenings, eight authors present their latest works in short, moderated discussions and readings - a varied kaleidoscope of contemporary German literature! For younger readers and their families, OPEN BOOKS KIDS offers a colorful children's book program on the weekend of the fair.
