The MUSEUM GIERSCH is an institution devoted to researching and publicly presenting art from the Rhine-Main region. This is the area between Mainz and Hanau, Aschaffenburg and Wiesbaden, Darmstadt and Friedberg with Frankfurt as hub. Two changing exhibitions on art and art-historical themes annually, plus accompanying catalogues, worship the work of those artists who are linked to the region by virtue of birth, domicile, education and training, exhibition and teaching activities.
The museum also promotes regional art via guided tours and lectures. The overall program represents a far-reaching contribution to the art history of the Rhine-Main region. The Museum's goal provides outstanding stimulation for the local and regional museum scenario.
