Bergen Enkheim was the home to a lively Jewish community until the Nazis came to power. Jews were just as respected in our town as people of other religions.
Jews and Christians served the community and were active in associations. The synagogue was destroyed in the pogrom night. Two Jewish cemeteries still exist.
The small permanent exhibition is shown in the administration offices, Markstrasse 30. It recalls Jewish life in Bergen Enkheim and features a book by Helmut Ulshofer.
The exhibition can be seen during opening hours of the Bergen Enkheim “Burgeramt”.
