The exhibition dedicated to the DAM Preis showcases highlights of current construction work in Germany and remarkable projects by firms of architects based in the country. From a longlist of 100 buildings a jury selected the 21 ensembles in Germany and three structures outside the country that are on display in the exhibition. With examples of housing construction, the refurbishment of existing buildings, the design of subway stations, schools and nurseries, manufacturing buildings, and a mourning chapel, the selection covers the entire range of present-day building assignments. For the first time the jury chose a group of four finalists, which were all journeyed by the jury to inspect them. The DAM Award for Architecture in Germany 2017 has been awarded to the Hamburg firm of Studio Andreas Heller Architects & Designers for the European Hansemuseum in Lübeck.
